The
MOM Project
We
are a nonprofit organization that provides support to families
who have lost a baby during pregnancy or infancy.
Our support group is held at 6:00 pm
on the first Wednesday of each month at the Carbondale Civic Center
in Carbondale, Illinois. Our meetings are casual and usually
last about an hour and a half.
The programs we offer include
the following:
- Local Support Group
to serve the Southern Illinois area.
- E-Mail List
- Community Events
such as picnics, fundraisers, etc.
- Commemorative Birth
Certificates are issued to parents of stillborn babies who did
not receive one by their state.
- Recognition of Life
Certificates are issued to parents of babies who were
miscarried.
- Bereaved Mothers
Bracelets are offered free of charge, in the birthstone or
color of their choice as a remembrance of their baby.
Note: We are currently
asking a small donation to help offset the cost of mailing these items.
The items themselves are still free, but the cost of mailing the
items has been one that we have not been able to keep up with.
We know that these items are very important to grieving families
and appreciate your understanding.
Our organization relies heavily on
donations from the general public to continue operation. We
are a 501(c)(3) Tax
Exempt Nonprofit Organization recognized by the IRS as a public
charity.
