I guess I now know a new emotion- sheer terror.
Today was the grand parade for the annual Apple Festival. About half an hour into it, I spotted this person walking through the crowd, wearing a makeshift mask out of an upside down do-rag and holding a handmade sign high in the air for everyone to see. I don't quite understand what it meant, but it said,
Jesus is
David's Son
and there was another line about a mother, but I can't remember it. I was scared to death, I almost packed the kids up and left, but my mom convinced me to stay. He looked like he was ready to open fire at any moment. Throughout the whole parade, I couldn't shake the feeling I had, and we ended up leaving early anyway.
The news hasn't been on, but I haven't heard any rumors, so I'm assuming that nothing happened. But, I was terrified! I don't think I've ever felt that way before. ![]()
On a positive note, the kids loved the parade!
Our local grocery store just put in a gas station as an incentive to buy food and get free gas. Yep, that's a great way to portray Murphysboro! I bet Main Street is loving this.
