The MOM Project picnic was a huge success! We had about 40 people show up. Everyone said they had a great time. There was plenty of good food, lots of games and a balloon release. Kids had a blast in the sack race, three legged race and egg race. We also had volleyball, badminton and horseshoes. There were a couple massage therapists who even came out for about an hour to give free massages. Here’s a slideshow!
The plans for the picnic are going great! We are working on many fun things to do.
We plan on providing pork BBQ sandwiches, cheeseburgers and hot dogs. We invite you to bring the side dish of your choice, or your favorite dessert!
There will be door prizes such as a t-shirt, hat, free meal from Denny’s, bath set from Avon and more.
We plan on having a massage therapist, face painting, badminton, volleyball and more. If you have a fishing license, you are welcome to bring your pole! There is also a playground available for the children. The picnic will conclude with a balloon release.

Hey everyone! The date for our MOM Project picnic will be Saturday, June 21. This picnic is for families who have lost a baby during pregnancy or infancy. If you would like to attend the picnic, please send me your address so I can send you an invitation! Families are welcome to attend (children included.) The MOM Project will supply a main dish and we invite you to bring your favorite side dish or desert. We will also hold a small ceremony with a balloon release in honor of our babies. If you would like an invitation, please let me know! Anyone whose life has been touched by the loss of a child (be it your own, a niece, nephew, grandchild, or even the baby of a friend or acquaintance) is welcome.
The MOM Project will meet for a support group meeting on Wednesday, May 7 at 6:00pm. The meeting will be held at the Carbondale Civic Center. Everyone is welcome to join us!
The MOM Project is looking for volunteers who can make bracelets or print certificates.
If you are interested, please join our messageboard at http://memoriesofmariam.com/messageboard/index.php and let us know you are interested. You will be given access to the volunteer board to learn more. Some volunteers prefer to mail out bracelets and certificates on their own instead of sending them directly to us, which does cut down on cost, though we also gladly accept donated bracelets.
Bracelets should be made with glass beads where possible. Any design is fine. Our most common request is for pink or blue bracelets. Here is an example:

Certificates should be printed on real certificate paper. These are a little different, as they are given our corporate seal, so these would need to be mailed to us, or we can press some certificate paper then send it to you.
Again, if you are interested, please go to our messageboard!
